How to type I diaeresis (Ï)

Copy the character, or use the shortcut that matches your keyboard and app.

Windows

Hold Alt and type 0207 on the numeric keypad.

Option + U, then I

Ctrl + Shift + :, then i — or type 00CF then Alt + X

Insert → Special characters → I diaeresis

Click the keycap, then paste with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V.

Num Lock on, hold Alt, type 0207, release Alt.
