How to type y acute (ý)

Hold Alt and type 0253 on the numeric keypad.

Option + E, then Y

Ctrl + ', then y — or type 00FD then Alt + X

Insert → Special characters → y acute

Click the keycap, then paste with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V.

Num Lock on, hold Alt, type 0253, release Alt.
