How to type U diaeresis (Ü)

Copy the character, or use the shortcut that matches your keyboard and app.

Windows

Hold Alt and type 0220 on the numeric keypad.

Option + U, then U

Ctrl + Shift + :, then u — or type 00DC then Alt + X

Insert → Special characters → U diaeresis

Click the keycap, then paste with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V.

Num Lock on, hold Alt, type 0220, release Alt.
