How to type u diaeresis acute (ǘ)

Hold Alt and type 472 on the numeric keypad.

Option + E, then U

Ctrl + ', then u — or type 01D8 then Alt + X

Insert → Special characters → u diaeresis acute

Click the keycap, then paste with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V.

Num Lock on, hold Alt, type 472, release Alt.
